This was so touching...As a single mom myself, I know the turmoil you are experiencing, but at the end of the day it's all worth it when you realize you have all that you need, and nothing more.

Dear mflynncoffield,

It's almost as If I have heard this before. Your villainous S-word really isn't that bad. It will only make you more aware if you accidently have another Freudian slip around your 19 month old daughter. You should spend time with someone that would use "Oh, Sugar" on a regular basis rather than the villainous S-word. Good story!

I am not yet a mother, but a friend of Missy's... I had to comment on this blog because I have seen first hand what a wonderful parent she is to Grace Ann, and it needs to be said - as hard as some days may be, she is doing a fantastic job of picking up the pieces that were left for her and moving ahead in life... I know this isn't a web site to reply to as though it's a simple e-mail, however, I want her to know that I am VERY proud of her!

I liked your article. When my daughter was about 4 years old we always used to tell her that carrots would make her pretty. We were at the mall when a friend saw her for the first time. The friend said, "How come your so pretty?" Patti said, "I eat lots of carrots!"

Hahaha, your kids would be right at home in France. Drinking in front of children, especially wine, is common practice. As is children sampling wine at a young age. My French neighbors even joke about putting a bit of rose in bottles to help naptime...not sure about that part but wine culture is part of the culture, children or not.

I'll definitely be looking forward to reading this. Don't really have anything to contribute, though...Always interested in reading the multi-culti aspect of Motherhood.
